At our coffee shop, we are dedicated to providing a welcome escape from the hopelessness that Lebanese people are facing. Unfortunately, most of our community has lost its purpose and has wandered away from its God-given purpose. Our community was known to be the most welcoming one; however, nowadays our people have lost their ability to connect with their neighbors and community.
Our mission is to create an inviting atmosphere where individuals can reconnect, find peace, and have ears to listen to them. Through the art of beverages made with love and warm hospitality, we aim to offer a haven where people might find true hope again. We are committed to being a cherished getaway that nourishes the body and the spirit.
According to many studies done by the end of 2023, an estimated 80% of the Lebanese live in poverty, and 36% below the extreme poverty line. These people are facing food insecurity especially with the financial crisis hitting Lebanon and the continuously rising inflation.
Our vision is to create a community where no one goes hungry, and where individuals facing these hardships find sustenance, support, and a sense of belonging. We aspire to be a beacon of compassion and solidarity, inspiring positive change and fostering a culture of empathy and understanding. By nurturing bodies and spirits alike, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and food insecurity, in our community.
We serve up flavor, a taste of faith, and the love of Christ with every meal.
Dwell has hosted several events. One of them was the launching of recycled glass made into artistically cut and designed products.
Another was a gender reveal for a couple.
Many board game nights for youth from different areas and universities.
Moreover, two open discussion topics: ways and tools to understand the bible and trauma healing through biblical texts. In both attendees were able to ask their questions, and share their traumas and experiences benefiting from the teachers who came to share their life testimonies.
In 2023, my wife and I, saw that many people around us were struggling to meet their basic needs, especially when it came to daily meals. As part of our mission to share the love of Christ, we started cooking and distributing free meals to families who had no other support. To help sustain this ministry, we opened a small coffee shop. It was a simple idea: serve good coffee, and use half the profit to cover the cost of the meals. The shop gave us more chances to connect with people and share the gospel. But when the recent war in Lebanon began, the area where the shop was located became unsafe—it was too close to the bombing. For everyone's safety, we had to close it. Still, the heart behind the work hasn’t changed. We remain committed to reaching people with the gospel and walking with them in discipleship
